A pity the work of de-silting the lake in St James park has to take place when the daffodils are all out and the cherry blossom looking magnificent. The notices say the work will be finished by the end of April. At least the park will look wonderful again by summer.

Wow - messy job!
They are doing soooo much work around the area! Its great to think how nice it will look when done but Whitehall has taken forever! I feel sorry for the tourists!
that looks like a tough job. Sort of takes away from the beauty of the flowers. I am glad you enjoyed the desert water feature on my site. Living in the desert means we really love water features when they exist. I have dancing Chihuly glass art up today.
What a shame.
I bet it stinks too!
Wow, that does look messy! I can't fathom all the stuff they must find in there :o/ it's lovely that you already have flowers in London though, here in Montreal, we're still at least a month away from daffodils!
Somehow you (all of us) have a tendency to complain when things are cleaned and refurbished... but if it wasn't done? :-)
Good planning by the powers that be again! I suppose the water was too cold in winter.
It must be done, but how does all the silt get there in the first place? Does this happen every year?
Doesn't look like a fun job.
I like seeing photos of people working: doing ordinary things. Let's us know that a city is a living entity.
Thank you very much for the info about Mid-month Subway. I will contact him later today.
Reminds me of my swimming pool before the cover comes off. Yucky water from the winter surrounded by beautiful azaleas and daffodils.
