Fire played a big part in this years Thames Festival. The amazing light in the window of the Tate was created by small pots of fire. This was the last picture I took that day as I headed home.
For most of the time I've been looking at it, I've been thinking the silhouettes were of singers on a stage. Then I saw the person with the camera . . . then I began to realise the others had their backs to us. Very elegant image Mo. Very beautiful too.
should have been in India Mo, as fire is a vital part of most of Hindu rituals. Now this is Diwali season, its all fire and fireworks right through the festival month. Have you watched the recent BBC serial 'The story of India' presented by Micheal Wood ?
Something wrong with 'Let there be light' It should be let there be fire, let there be heat, heat generates light.

Excellent photo - you always seem to be in the right place at the right time.
BTW- I will give you all a very British greeting today--- Pinch, punch, first of the month to everyone (no trade backs!) :) Happy October!
Nice one! I like the contrast and the colors.
What an evocative photograph - love the silhouettes.

Looks as if it should be a dance maybe - a pagan rite of winter, perhaps!
Perfect!!

I love the color. Nicely done!
Sublime !!! That must have made your day.
Well what a photo! No idea what the others were like but in this case perhaps last was best. Can't imagine how you'd improve it. Love it!
Really cool image. What a great contrast.
Great Picture....
Great idea for this theme
Already October...
I think of The October Country by Ray Bradbury, when I'm looking at your photo.
Beautifully composed, the silhouettes made a great contrast with the red tones!

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this is the best photo of the day. I love it!
Awesome photo Mo! Send it on over to Apple and see if they want to use for one of their ads, it's totally worthy!
