Fairs leave me cold. I bet it is cold too. I hope you have a white Christmas. It is my daughters last Christmas there after 9 years. I'm looking forward to her coming home.
It's joy fixed in flight. A celebration of festival and colour and of pure pleasure in irrelevence. The little banners and things on the stand beyond make it look mediaeval, despite the jeans and boots. I feel cheerful just to look at it. (Probably be sick if I were on it - but that's different!)
More more! I have to do London vicariously through you now, since the Channel tunnel was closed and we had to make the seven hour drive back to the Netherlands...
