Wow, that looks COLD!! If it is not Green Park, is it Hyde Park perhaps? I like the splash of color from the umbrella, and I like the turn of the road.... London, A3 and closed airports was part of what we saw on Norwegian TV News last night... Keep warm and enjoy the snow!!
It looks like something out of a beautiful children's book. No one in the States would think of using an umbrella in the snow -- but if I had one that big and colorful I might consider it.
That umbrella makes it so quintessentially British: the umbrella in itself of course and the design on the umbrella! You can beat everything with a brolly and a cuppa (or so it seems to me)...
Snow can be a pain in the a$$ eventually, but it's so pretty initially and it's nice the way it forces everyone to stop, slow down, and take a bit of a breather. Lovely.
Tinsie, you don't get wet if you have the right apparel, and in the frozen tundra of the Midwest, USA, the right kind of weather clothes is a given! Haven't gotten wet during a snowfall in years!
A ha! That explains it. We don't have the right apparel over here, since it snows so rarely. If you're caught in a snow storm, you either hold an umbrella over your head or you get very wet indeed.
In fact, I've been very surprised during the recent cold spell to see how many people seem to not own hats, gloves or proper winter jackets!! That Gulf stream has a lot to answer for.

it's pretty. we are expected to get more snow tomorrow too.
The umbrella brightens up the scene. Never thought of using an umbrella during a snowfall, tho.
Fab-tastic shot! I've seen umbrellas like that on postcards, but never IRL :-)
@ Kate: What else would you use in snowfall, if you didn't want to get wet?
I love this picture... but why do the Brits always use umbrellas in the snow?!
Love the union jack brolly
Displaying the colors and staying dry. Perfect!
THis makes a beautiful scene and that umbrella is a perfect accent. Does this happen to be Green Park?

Brrrr! Pretty, but not polite enough to fall only on the grass.

yes the umbrella does make the picture, it looks pretty there bet it doesn't feel like it though.
Once again you've got a slightly different angle. So many snow shots have people in red jackets but I haven't seen a union jack anywhere!
