You get not one but three bridges this week. In the foreground you can see the work taking place at Black Friars, scheduled for completion late 2011. Looking up the Thames you can see Waterloo Bridge (the ugly one) the the Jubilee pedestrian bridge (the pretty one).

Goodness me, did you take this great shot, if so where were you? Nice one, Mo. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteGreat image of the city!
ReplyDeleteI recently learned that Waterloo Bridge is known as the 'The Ladies Bridge' because it was constructed during WWII and 80% of the workforce was female. It is made from self-cleaning Portland marble (but it looks more like concrete except from very close up!).
ReplyDeleteI love how you can see how the river takes a turn in the distance.
ReplyDeleteFantastic view of the bridges and everything else!
ReplyDeleteThe ugly one, lol! Super panorama!
ReplyDeleteGreat view! Actually ... Londonesque. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteMo,
ReplyDeleteMay be Louis is Ben Stiller and his Robert De Niro is really his Father in law. LOL.
On a serious note, I did see some fossilised mussels and oysters, but I am quite skeptical about the age.
All kids in Borneo start their first day in school singing, " London bridge is falling down."
ReplyDeleteMy Chinese Grand Dad said, what a funny lot the British are, the bridge falls down, and they sing about ti.
Excellent, Mo, a "hat trick" - 3 in 1.
ReplyDeleteNo, that doesn't mean you can take the next three weeks off....
Mo nice shot which has loads of detail. I suppose I like Tower Bridge the most but I do like the pedestrian bridge near the Tate Modern....is that the Jubilee bridge?
ReplyDeleteCool!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE 3 for 1 specials!! Can't wait to go back there in August...
Take care,
Leesa
Just lovely, amazing
ReplyDeleteBest regards from Argentina
