A corner near Portobello Rd. Closure of the famous market has been discussed in the media again recently. Wandering around the nearby streets of expensive houses suggests a rather dull future for the area.
I didn't even realize that this was up for discussion... It's such a wonderful part of the neighborhood - it seems selfish to discard it for the sake of image.

It's sad when an area loses its character. I hope it remains but don't hold out much hope.
ReplyDeleteTaking the market out of Portobello road would be like taking the castle out of Edinburgh. The place will lose it's heart.
