Travel Chaos

Airports have thousands camping on the floors, trains have been cancelled. All in all travelling at the moment is not a heap of fun.
Yesterday the queue for the eurostar stretched from inside the station along Euston Road, past the British library and down the side street. About 6,000 people, with a wait of 5-6 hours.
According to the papers, tempers were frayed and eurostar staff where surly and rude.
Not so. They were doing a sterling job trying to deal with a difficult situation. Handing out drinks and croissants, all with a smile. Directing people to the end of the mile long queue.

A perfect opportunity for comedian buskers I thought. Where were they?

Well. Yay. I get to wait in lines tomorrow then!

I just read that SAS are planning to sue Heathrow. The airline have around six thousand passengers stranded at that airport since a week or so. Merry Christmas...

I've been hearing a lot of reports of the travel problems in Europe right now. Even here, some of the direct flights to London have been cancelled.

I've been hearing reports of the difficult travel. 6,000 people waiting in line in the cold? I'd be surly. Hoping you don't have to wait in a long queue. Have a warm and safe holiday Mo!

Croissants sound good; 5-6 hours in a queue does not!

We are due to drive down to Hackney on 30th. Hope the snow and ice have cleared by then.

Good, happy news doesn't catch the eye, unfortunately so the Eurostar staff *had* to be surly and unhelpful. Must have been a nightmare for the travellers, though.

As I sit here in the heat, my window open, safely at home after a short commute with no traffic as it seems the entire city is on holiday, I am quite glad I live in Africa! I hope it clears up for you soon. Looks a bit of a bore! And yes - a perfect captive audience for buskers!

It doesn't sound fun at all - but a drink and a croissant might help pass the time. A busker would be even better.
