Even easier way to get them to throw up their hands: invade (old joke, but it had to be said)

This type of place is rarer and rarer. Back in'03 when I moved to London I asked my building concierge where the nearest "real' fish and chips place was in the neighbourhood; it took 2 days to find someone who knew of one. Last I knew the site is now a hulking combined use complex.
