ReplyDeleteWhen Achilles was erected the area opposite in Mayfair was somewhat down at heel. Prostitutes flourished and they gathered at the stature remarking upon his stature, questioning why certain bits of his 'stature' did not appear to match. A fig leaf was later added to cause this to cease! I never noticed myself.
