Coffee?

Cup of coffee? It's hard to avoid the chains when you're hanging out for a coffee. Costa is the second biggest chain in the UK. No 1? Starbucks.

  1. These days the only chain I like is Pret though the coffee in Costa is usually quite nice. I once had 2 consecutive cups of Starbucks cappuccino and it made me feel really ill, like drinking liquid foam, I have never been able to enter one of their cafes again!

  3. Gosh - not heard of that one yet. It is mandatory to have the letters STA in the titles of a coffee chop chain then?

  4. Is it a fancy place? For regular coffee, Tim Horton's is definitely number one in Canada.

  7. I don't like coffee so have no experience of these chains. I wish I did like coffee because I love the smell.

  8. I am in the minority among your commenters so far. I love Starbucks and even have their store locator on my iPhone. It is always a reliable cup of coffee and usually a pleasant place to sit for a while with good music and a newspaper.

  9. Give it a few more years and Subway will top both of them.

@Jack - Costa is a lot like Starbucks, but with only about half the pretense/self-importance. Which is still too much by about half.
