I was so scandalized when I visited Rome and Florence last year and found that you had to pay to use the washrooms in some places!!! That's unheard of in Canada. The most expensive ones I found were in Termini stations in Rome, .75 Euros! I am proud to say that I managed my entire 10 day trip without paying to use the facilities once though, I either suffered until I reached my bed and breakfasts or just went in every museum and church I visited...even if I didn't feel the need to go right then!
I hate it when the charge for using a restroom. I always try to leave the door open (after I'm done that is) so that the next person will not have to pay. I agree, this one is rather stylish.
Finally there are loo's at Southbank. Rather smart they are too. You'll need more than a penny though. 50p is the going rate here.
Wonder how long they will stay in that pristine condition!
