Fancy trying your hand at stone carving? There is so much happening at Abney Park (see yesterday's post), among them the chance to learn a new skill. Not only can you watch the artists at work, buy their beautiful products, but they'll also teach you their skills. To find out more about creating sculptures visit the Abney Park Carvers.
I have no hand skills. That's why I like photograph so much. Photography is really quite simple, it isn’t rocket science. Its just reacting to what you see.
ReplyDeleteI would try but I doubt the stone would last.
ReplyDeleteGood skill.
Ican use my had have done all my life, never tried a masons work though. She should have been given glasses or goggles to wear.
ReplyDeleteI'd mess that stone up in no time at all.
ReplyDeleteEven harder while trying to keep a pink tote bag on your shoulder.
ReplyDeleteI bet that isn't and easy craft to learn.
ReplyDeleteI imagine it's a very difficult skill to learn!
ReplyDeleteI'd end up messing up my hand in the process!
ReplyDeleteI bet there are some 4th or 5th generation carvers - very cool to see.
ReplyDeleteThis isn't going to work for me. Carving takes immense care and patience, which are in short supply with me.
