A large structure covered in white curtains what could it be? On my way back past Kings Cross Station a couple of hours later, all was revealed: A giant Henry Moore sculpture.
The three meter high sculpture, inspired by a pebble (no really Moore obviously lives in giant land) is on long term loan. I wonder what inspiration this will give the students at St Martins school of art just up the road.
It is amazing what is called art these days. Nice shape all the same.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly does stand out.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy his work!
ReplyDeleteI'm never quite sure about old Henry. Some of his work I really like but this one falls into the Not Sure category. Maybe you need to see it 'in the flesh'.
ReplyDeleteHenry Moore was the rage when I was in college many moons ago. I still like seeing it (though, to answer John, most Moore works MUST be seen in person to be appreciated), but I wonder what the art students of today think about it. I suspect it is not held in as high regard by young people as by old folks like me.
ReplyDeletebeautiful sculpture :) and to answer your question , yes , it's my collection :)
