I watched a bunch of moorhens do much the same the other day, then realised the thing they were poking at was a dead songbird. Eurgh!

Too many people think it's someone else's job to clean up after them. Reading streets on a Saturday night being one example among many.
How sad. I'm hoping they didn't swallow it.
Very sad and so unnecessary.

Human beings can be a right pain in the arse.
That is disappointing. They could get hurt.
