Soon, in some of our parks here in Paris, we will have more sea gulls than pigeons ... and we are further off the sea than you! I have seen them walking on the ice recently! Not enough fish in the sea?
Wonderful photo - very evocative! Gulls are scavengers as much as hunters but we've been surprised by the numbers we've seen recently and we'e pretty far inland.
It looks like there is some snow or rain coming down. So true about the gulls. When I was working in Chicago, I used to see them all over and it always felt strange to me.
It always seems strange to see gulls in London. Even stranger when it is snowing. I associate them with a sunny day at the beach.
