50 Years on

Carnaby St is celebrating its 50th year. Is Mary Quant really that old? Are we going to see a comeback of bellbottoms and paisley? Mini skirts and plastic earings?
I'll keep a fresheye out for fun stuff to show you.

I hadn't expected the harsh modern buildings on the left.

Oh dear, that makes me feel really old! Wish I'd kept some of my clothes from that era though...

Doesn't look like mini skirt weather here!

Oh, those red umbrellas certainlhy are eye-catchers, aren't they! The arch in the background sets off the whole photo nicely!

I love this photo, but I say a HUGE NO to the bell bottoms. Once in my lifetime is enough.

Love the red umbrella - I visited Carnaby Street in the late 60s - don't remember much about it though.

I was way too young to appreciate the 'swinging 60's', so maybe I can be a middle age hippy!

Cool street. Even in the rain.

The terrible thing, reading this post, is that I was there ... (almost) 50 years ago! :-)
