Year of the Dragon

The celebrations for the Chinese New Year have already begun in Soho London. On the eve of the year of the dragon there were the usual dragon dances as seen at most Chinese festivals, there are all manner of dragons on sale as well. I was rather taken with this gold dragon hat the man above is wearing.
This weekend there will be a big parade in Chinatown and lots of festivities in Trafalgar Square.

That parade sounds like fun. Nice hat.

I like the hat, too, but would probably get laughed at if I wore it on the golf course which is where I'm headed right now!

Lots of festivities for you to enjoy in London!

And no doubt some good chinese food; reminds me of when I lived in Malaya as a teenager

I had forgotten this was coming up. I'll have to see what is going on here this weekend. I watched some of the celebration about two years ago and enjoyed it.

Did you have the fireworks too? In Amsterdam they use a lot of them.

Dragons make good decorations and now I see they also make pretty cool hats.
