Luxury of a Bygone Era

Luxury of the past experienced in the present. Yesterday I was treated to a simply divine trip on the British Pullman Orient Express an experience that whisks you back to the heyday of great train travel.
You begin your journey from London's Victoria Station. We all met in the British Pullman Lounge alongside the tracks the train leaves from.

We boarded the vintage carriages (each carriage is different) where we were greeted with canapes and bubbles. Then as we travelled through the beautiful countryside of Kent we were served a five course lunch eating and drinking the very best of English food and wine, in a style reminiscent of the 1920's.

We stopped briefly at Whitstable and while we listened to a jazz band performing on the station we were served fresh oysters and champagne.

All too quickly the day passed and we were back in London. Next time I think I might go on the trip that includes beautiful gardens or maybe I might take the one that visits Alnwick Castle, you know the one that was Hogwarth's school in the Harry Potter movie. Then again maybe a trip to Bath for a spa..... sigh one could just spend forever aboard this wonderful train.
