The Funeral

A quiet and by London's standards, a rather small crowd lined the route along Fleet Street to St Paul's Cathedral with the coffin of Margaret Thatcher. A number of tourists and a large contingency of press from around the world.

A few protesters quietly made their views known.  Some simply turned their backs as the coffin passed by.

I expect a bigger and more enthusiastic crowd will be at London's marathon this coming Sunday.

It is amazing that the media that demanded she resign now pretend to praise her and make out she was some sort of saint! They sold papers mind.

Cameron hopes to get votes from this in a couple of weeks, he won't.

Yes, I have read both +/-
I remember her, her voice and the way she looked.
I am not from the UK, and I guess that might be the reason for me not to have a STRONG opinion about her.

I looked at a lot of the photos that were on line yesterday. It was quite ceremony.

Great street scenes - she certainly made an impression here in the States (good at the time). Though I have heard so much of the bad too, once I spent more time in the UK. A mixed legacy perhaps, but something to be said that she was the first female PM.

I admire Margaret Thatcher. She had a wonderful send off. I watched it on TV.

With great power comes great responsibility. I think the true legacy is how everyone fares under someone's leadership, who's better off and who's not.
