Another View of the City

Love it or hate it the city of London is great to photograph.  What is now one of the most powerful financial districts in the world is a mere square mile with towering buildings (and even more being constructed) that reflect the sun (sometimes a little too much see my post about it here) and often seem to sparkle rather like a box of jewels.

Not sure I 'd want that to happen but I do feel London has lost it's history with all those horrible buildings but then so have most places in the UK

I like this "sparkle rather like a box of jewels."

I wonder if the architects completely ignored the possibility of a scorcher in the UK :) You are so right though about London being fabulously photogenic Mo.

I love looking at this skyline and I really like wandering around those streets in the canyons made by all those buildings.

The modern architecture is becoming somewhat problematic in terms of how it sticks out. This is what happens when one lets developers run free.

Pretty much love all of the new buildings, though the sun will certainly be problematic in future days, they say...Love them now, they are quite magnificent!

I tend toward the traditional in my architectural tastes, but I am trying to be progressive about the new London architecture. Much of it is actually beautiful in its own way, though I still wince at the sight of the gherkin and whatever that wheel is called.
