Steaming Ahead


Dozens of narrowboats converge at Little Venice on Regents Canal every year at May Bank holiday.  Some have taken days to get here, one took six months!  It's a bit of a festival and bit of a trade show for the boaties. (is that what canal boat owners call themselves?)  Fun and entertainment for the rest of us.

Protective Parents

Watch out anyone or anything that comes near these cygnets as their over protective parents will swing into full attack mode. Ironically, when the cygnets are six months old their parents aggression turns on them, and they are turfed out of home to make their own way in the bird world. No wonder swans always seem a bit crabby!

After the Party

London went bunting crazy for the Diamond Jubilee. It seemed as if every street, store, house, and boat was surrounded by bunting and had a flag flying. This week the soggy decorations are being removed.

Yes, it is raining again. The wettest May on record and June is heading the same way!
