A Diversion

Yes I know yesterday I promised we would be going inside City Hall, well we're taking a wee diversion, we will visit inside next week.  In the meantime another architectural view of London being admired by a couple who are checking it out in their selfie.

Selfie

Selfie - defined by Urban Dictionary as "a picture taken of yourself that is planned to be uploaded to Facebook....usually accompanied by a kissy face".  Then there are group selfies, celeb selfies, political selfies, (remember the Obama, Cameron and Thorning-Schmidt).  Who came up with the term selfie is not clear but by the end of 2012 Time magazine considered "selfie" to be one of the top 10 buzz words.

Looking Back

A stranger standing on the millennium bridge taking in the view up the Thames (and contemplating the history of it all too, no doubt) seemed like a good place to reflect on the end of a decade. This evening we will welcome in the new year. I wish all of you, your friends, families, and important beings a very Happy New Year!
