The Piano Tuner

A few popular pianos dotted around the city during summer are now permanat fixtures, like the ones at St Pancras Station.  We are treated to some wonderful music as we pass by.  However this is the first time I have caught the piano tuner.

The Pianos are back

Since 2008 we've had a couple of weeks in summer when pianos appear all over the city titled 'play me I'm yours'. This year they have colourful art work painted on them. London seems to be full of extremely talented pianist's who give us wonderful impromptu shows.

Play Me I'm Yours

First appearing in 2008 this brilliant summer artwork by Luke Jerram is here again this summer. 21 pianos around the streets of London City there for anyone to play. This one at Bartholomew Hospital turned into a fabulous impromptu concert. A talented pianist was joined by a saxophonist and guitar player.

Teamwork

I think I found one of the pianos that have been installed around the city for the summer festival, in its new life. Playing their own tunes happily together. If only we could all live like this.

Play Me I'm Yours

Thirty pianos have been installed around the streets of London with 'play me I'm yours' written on them. Yesterday even the rain didn't deter players.
Such a brilliant idea. I've heard all sorts of music played. Strangers are chatting to one another, some dance and others sing. Their final day on the streets is today, then they will be donated to schools and community groups. Let's hope the magic continues.
