I don't go through Liverpool St very often, so I'd never really thought about when it was built... you only see the new bits if you're rushing through!

A painting?

The new manifestation of Liverpool Street Station shows how a dreadful, dreary, muddled place can be turned into something characterful and beautiful . . . until one goes onto the platforms.

Why can't we have it all?

Lucy

This is quite awesome! Reminds me of when I went through this station a few years back. There's something about catching people "in a hurry" that you can capture in a picture.

So full of action and activity, I can almost hear the sounds of the station.

A great photo for a great station. But I have to agree with Lucy because of the platforms. They aren't very nice.

Is it just me or does this look a bit like Victoria Station?

Great photo. You've really captured the hustle and bustle!

Very nice overview. I get a little thrill when I pass through the major London railway stations. Your country has done such a good job of bringing them up to the needs of modern travelers. The U.S. has nothing like Victoria, Paddington on King's Cross (although my vote for the most kick-ass station in the world is Kyoto).

There's something very attractive about this photo. It would make a great jigsaw too :-)

Memories, this time a couple of years ago there I stood, visiting friends, crying as I departed and headed back to Australia :-(
