Leigh-on-Sea

The old town of Leigh-on Sea is a quaint fishing village in the Thames Estuary. As you wander along the sea front you'll see all the cockle sheds processing the days catch. There are restaurants and pubs all along the seafront where you can sit in and enjoy some fresh seafood while you take in the view. If you are really lucky you may even spot Helen Mirren on a return visit to where she grew up.
Take a train from Fenchurch Station and you'll be there in 40 minutes.

What a stunning sunset! I love fishing villages, we have lots of them in Canada, or at least we do on the Eastern end of the country!

Sounds like a wonderful place and I would love to visit. I mean, really, a sunset like that and Helen Mirren? What more could a guy want? :-)

Oh that sky, it's like a Turner painting! Helen Mirren is wonderful. (On side note, each time I hear 'estuary' I can't help but think of Hugh Laurie's "Mystery" song from "A Bit of Fry and Laurie":))
