Skywatch Friday - Full Moon over Royal Festival Hall

A full moon and the sky matching the colours of the lighting on Royal Festival Hall made a striking image.

«Louis» remembers where Royal Festival Hall is.
The colours of the sky and of the lighting on the hall indeed are a match.

Apologies for acting like a self-appointed arbiter but this is the (Royal) National Theatre, the Royal Festival Hall being a little further west along the south bank. Both buildings are excellent examples in differing ways of how the post-war mood for public inclusion informed the design of public buildings. For me this is one of the finest examples of modernism, looking its best either when illuminated at night or when its balconies are thronged in the summer with interval-time theatre-goers. The NT will soon embark on a refurbishment to bring it back in line with the architect's original intentions of transparency and make full use of its riverside location:

The building is not everyone's cup of tea but it does looks softened by the lighting. Your photo does make a lovely image.
